Sotic have once again scored a major hit in the world of professional sports websites with the launch of sailing.org the new online presence for the International Sailing Federation, ISAF.

Not only will the new site allow uses to easily access a wide range of news, features, and technical information from the many disciplines which fall under the control of ISAF, it will also make the best use of all the news stories and photographs sent in by ISAF’s world wide team of contacts and volunteer reporters.

“Having seen sites delivered by Sotic, and powered by RedDot’s Web Content Management, we thought it made a lot of sense to go for a solution that was tried and tested,” said David Knapman, news editor of the site.

It took less than six months from the concept of the site being agreed until it was launched in September 2007 – one hundred years since the organisation began.

“Many organisations say that their web sites are important to them,” says Claire Frost, Head of Media and Marketing at ISAF. “But, for us, the site really is an essential tool for the work we do every day. Members in other countries use it around the clock to access information, the world’s sailors check our site regularly and fans of sailing use it to follow the big events.

“As there can be long lasting legal repercussions from challenges and decisions in races, we also have a duty to store a massive amount of data, and we can now do this more easily. “

www.sailing.org is the latest high profile site to be launched by Sotic who have also provided an online presence for the Welsh Rally GB the Welsh and Irish Rugby Unions and other major rugby tournaments, such as the Guinness Premiership and the Heineken Cup.
